My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Mental health and suicide prevention

I work in a wonderful, but unstable industry full of emotionally charged artists who are often celebrated for their emotional vulnerability. Over the course of my lifetime, I’ve met many people who’ve struggled with mental health. I’ve lost friends to suicide and substance abuse. Personally, I’ve battled alcohol and depression and am proud to say I’ve been alcohol free for over four years now. I lost my mother to cancer a year ago and miss her dearly. To say that it took a toll on my family would be an understatement. My incredible wife also gave birth to my beautiful daughter 9 weeks ago. I just want to do my part to build a healthier and happier world for my children to grow up in.

Thank you for doing this. You are saving lives. The more open people are with their struggles the more people are like “oh I’m not alone”. As someone who’s survived trauma and abuse this is very close to my heart.

Thank you for the time and spot light you’re putting on mental health but also men’s health. It is an area that has only recently become more open to discussion and help. As someone who has dealt both personally and professionally with the above it is inspiring and gives me hope for humanity.
Professionally I’ve seen the despair, hopelessness and defeat associated with mental health and sadly the lasting impacts to those left behind. This continues regarding men’s health as well. The statistics about men, their comorbidities, longevity and overall health are staggering; despite being in the 21st century. Where’re starting out strong but there’s a lot more to be done… resources, access, finances and yes stigma are barriers hindering those who need help. Thank you again you’ve given me renewed vigour to continue the good fight - for myself and for my patients.

My son deals with severe social anxiety and major depressive disorder. He is making progress but he feels that stigma of males not showing what is too often perceived as “weakness.” Thank you for your efforts to increase awareness and support for mental health. I am also a long-time NCIS fan. I love the new show. Great job! Amanda Cassity
