My motivation

Last year I was motivated to grow the stache for the first time by my good friend Aaron Shefren’s unwavering and continual support of Movember over the past many years. Little did I know I personally would be impacted less than a month after completing my inaugural grow.

For those that don’t know, following my routine 45 year old colonoscopy last December, I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. My family and I were shocked! Fast forward 11 months and lots of treatments and I was thankfully given the all clear.

I am the luckiest person in the world to have the most amazing family, friends, and community who carried me through the last year. I couldn’t have made it without the outpouring I received of love, support, lots of food, and so much more. I am so thankful, and find it hard to put into words, my gratitude to all who texted, called, sent good vibes, or did anything to support me and my family. Now, I want to help as many people as possible.

I encourage everyone to get tested and checked!! As scary as the tests may seem, take it from me personally they are not too bad, and are the easiest way to detect anything as early as possible.

I am happy to discuss any of my journey with anyone who is curious.

My stache (and Team Captain Shefren’s) this year is named T-Bar because of its shape and our shared love of all things skiing. Audra and the girls have shared many choice words for the monstrosity on my face, but that’s why I do it, to start the awkward conversations.

I encourage everyone to support me, my team, and Movember, as it is the leading charity changing the face of men's health. I know many other people whose lives have been impacted by men’s cancers and mental health issues. I will do anything to help them and people like them as they work through these issues. Help me stop people dying too young.

We are on the last day of the 2023 Movember stache campaign and it has been a fun month of connecting with friends and family. So please get out your wallets and help us out!

Most people are envious of the lucious fur above my lip, and it is always a good conversation starter to talk about what this month is about. Getting regular checkups significantly increases the likelihood of staying healthy and having a positive outcome when issues do arise. Early detection generally leads to better treatment and is an important pillar that the Movember Campaign is built on.

Another aspect of the campaign is to raise awareness for Men's mental health issues including depression, anxiety, and suicide prevention. Men need to know that it is ok to ask for help and the money you donate will support organizations so men can get the help they need to be healthy physically and mentally. Thank you again for your support of a really important cause. We still have time for more challenges and there is always time to donate to keep the men in your life healthy.

We are about 2 weeks in and this dirty stache is looking quite sweet! Many people stare and point as I pass, which I take as compliments of my manliness and handsomeness. I’m excited to keep this thing going and growing as we keep raising money that goes directly to help men who face all sorts of mental and physical issues. Please donate anything if you can! It is greatly needed and appreciated.

Help me and Aaron Shefren on our quest to raise funds to help many men’s causes. I am growing the stache in honor of many people I know going through cancer and dealing with mental issues, including Ricky Ray, Jerry, B Nogg, and many others. Please help us all out!

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
