My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Mental health and suicide prevention

My motivation is to do anything and everything I can to keep everyone happy and healthy, both physically and mentally. If there is something I can do to assist in preventing pain and poor health, I'm going to do it. That's what this is all about.

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this Movember, I'm joining them. Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young.

This picture is 6 years old, but I still have all this Movember/mustache apparel. In fact, I have a lot more. I even have a toiletries bag that’s Movember themed. Guess you could say I’m committed…

Some of you might have noticed I’m not tracking my MOvement this year like I have in years past. Part of that is because I will be out of commission next week. BUT, rest assured I have remained active. Check out my last 31 days on Peloton. And this is just for the rides.

Keeping active is a great, if not THE greatest, way to improve and maintain good physical and mental health. Even just making time for a quick walk can make a big impact (just ask my dog who HAS to go on walks despite having his own backyard)… so make a little time to keep active and thank me later ;)

A supporter of Movember and my fundraising efforts shared this article with me, and I wanted to ensure it was saved elsewhere. It speaks about how when Men don't take care of themselves (physically and mentally), and how that lack of care affects their spouse/partner and beyond... Basically, summing up why Movember does what they do to minimize the impact on everyone, regardless of your gender identification. Check it out.

We recently went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs, and I had to grab a picture of the Emperor Monkey… for obvious reasons. I didn’t learn WHY they have such an epic lip curtain, but I like it!

Just a reminder to always be checking. The earlier sign is acknowledged, the sooner action can be taken, the more likely of a positive outcome!

Veteran (and active military) come to mind when I think of Movember, always. Despite feelings on any “war” itself, the warriors make a sacrifice that can’t really be topped, and that should be acknowledged and appreciated.

I can’t imagine some of the things these people see while serving their country and their people. The physical and mental toll is very real, and we should all support them any way we can.

I want everyone to be happy and healthy regardless of who they are, and if some people need additional support now or in the future, we as a society should provide that. That’s part of why I have been part of Movember for so long and will continue to be.

Thank you veterans (and active military) for your work and sacrifice! Here’s hoping we can show our appreciation now and forever and help you live happy and healthy lives. You’ve earned it.

How cool is this? A friend of mine sent me this Hot Wheels "Mo-Stache" car that comes with a hidden flick mustache! I had to share the awesomeness and now need to figure out where I can proudly display this year-round! Hot Wheels leading the way!

Listen, I get the world is crazy now. Prices for almost everything are rising, and there is considerable uncertainty about the future. I hope you all know that any and all financial donations are appreciated, and if that's not in the cards right now, that's okay, too. What matters is you take care of yourself and the people closest to you. Always. With that said, there are other ways to make a difference in Men's Health and Mental Health besides financial contributions. For example, every other week I attempt to donate platelets. Cancer patients use these donations to assist with healing after chemotherapy. Just something to think about if you want/can help others in need. Thanks!

I'll be sending out my first fundraiser email tonight for a "super hero" themed month/campaign (as there is a matching opportunity for donations tomorrow, *hint hint, wink wink*). I will include what I think is the better AI-generated image in that message, but I thought I would share the "runner-up" image here... I went in a different direction as the other image actually used my face and doesn't make me look THIS old and worn... anyway, enjoy!

Not to make you feel old, but this year marks the 40th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. franchise (Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong featuring "Jump Man" are already past this milestone). And the protagonists of the franchise may have the most famous cookie dusters out there. Feel free to celebrate Movember with one of their iconic games (Super Mario World, originally for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, is my all-time favorite video game).

My daughter came home from school on Friday with a nose neighbor (along with some distinguished brows)… I’m taking that as a sign that this Movember will include a successful campaign…

Happy Halloween! How cool is this image by Reis O'Brien, creator of Tiny Ghost? Every year, he participates in "Inktoper," a challenge for artists to create something using a prompt... and October 1st's prompt was mustache! I'm hoping I can get the physical copy of this to display with my other TG stuff...

Well, nearly $2,000, 100 miles, and 30 days later, #Movember is coming to an end. Thanks for all the support, from donations to the @Movember foundation (link in bio) to just taking stock in your own and other’s physical and mental health, it’s all worth it. May 2024 end in high spirits and 2025 be the best yet!

“Ask not what the #mustache can do for you — ask what you can do for the mustache.”

Are you enjoying the U.S. Presidential theme associated with the messaging I am using for #Movember this year?

I hope because here’s an update.

Another “who wore it better?” 26th President of the United States Theodore Roosevelt? Or 26-time Fantasy Football runner up Clinton Crockett? (Don’t worry, still no vote on this…)

Mid-Movember is here which means I’m halfway through my mission for men’s health. Raising donations for life-changing men’s health initiatives across mental health and suicide prevention along with prostate and testicular cancer.

For those that have donated to my fundraising effort, thank you so very, very much. Any and all donations, regardless of size, are greatly appreciated! I will send more personalized “thank-yous” in the future.

For those of you who haven’t donated but want to/plan to, why wait? Movember is running a contest for the most raised this week (I’m not kidding).

And for everyone, I hope you are taking care of yourselves and checkin’ in on those you care about. After all, that’s what Movember is really about: taking care of your health, physical and mental.

Cheers!

You know, donating blood is an excellent way to support those fighting cancer, including testicular and prostate cancers. I try to donate platelets every other week to help where I can… the time to catch up on shows and getting a cholesterol test are just icing on the cake! There are usually other perks too, so consider donating soon!
