Our Motivation

Hodgkin's Lymphoma is a blood cancer that affects approximately 9000 individuals per year--58% of those cases are men. At age 29, Mr. Sorgente was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He underwent chemotherapy for 6 months. He has been cancer-free since October 2023. When he was diagnosed, the only symptom he had was a cough that could've passed as an allergy-induced cough. Thankfully, he went to his General Practitioner, who sent him for a precautionary x-ray. If he did not, Mr. Sorgente wouldn't have known about the tennis-ball-sized tumor in his chest, and would not have sought out consultation and treatment with the wonderful medical staff of NYU Langone Perlmutter Cancer Center. Mr. Sorgente's medical teams saved his life.

It is important to Mr. Sorgente to raise awareness for Men's overall health, so early intervention can occur in situations like this. It is very easy to think it will never happen to you, but you won't know unless you are going for frequent check-ups.

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this Movember we are joining them. Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, overall mental health, and suicide prevention. Help us stop men dying too young.
