Our Motivation

Hello Everybody,

As some of you may know over the past 4 years of the brothers of the Phi Sigma Kappa - Eta Hexaton Chapter here at UD have participated in the annual fundraiser called Movember. Since 2020 we have raised over $45,000 for the cause.

For those who are unfamiliar, Movember is a charity that raises money for Men’s mental health. Men’s health is in crisis. Men are dying on average 5 years earlier than women, and for largely preventable reasons.

A growing number of men – around 10.8M globally – are facing life with a prostate cancer diagnosis. Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer among young men. And across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 69% of all suicides.

Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.

This year the brothers of Phi Sig at the University of Dayton have 95 brothers growing mustaches and running to help us reach our goal of 600 miles ran and $15,000 in donations to bring us over $60,000 total. Thanks for taking the time to read!
