Our Motivation

Thanks to our partners UC San Diego Health.
Alt 949 has 4 main goals this year...
To encourage men to
1. Pay attention to your health and to what your body is telling you.
2. Emphasize the importance of mental health and its impact on suicide prevention
3. Raise funds for that elusive cure for cancer.
4. Exercise more as in MOVE
Join our team again (or for the first time) and get involved with men's health.

Year after year, prostate cancer continues to be the most diagnosed cancer in men. Prostate cancer is silent until it’s serious, and once you notice symptoms, it may be too late. The good news is, prostate cancer CAN be detected early through routine screening – starting with a simple blood test. Talk to your doctor about when you should begin testing -- based on your age, risk factors and family history. Physicians at UC San Diego Health’s Moores Cancer Center sit on the national committees that set the guidelines for early detection and treatment, so you have access to teams who treat the toughest cases with the most advanced type of care — that is why we are the only NCI Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center here in San Diego.
