Day 19. My 'stache has been dubbed "The Wolverine" by the students I was on a trip with. Had some great conversations surrounding Movember with folks at the Journalism National Convention I attended because of my glorious mo.

While in Dallas this past weekend for a National Convention.. I hoofed it much of the time instead of driving. I covered about 20 miles walking in the time I was there... but 3 of those were intentional "move" miles.

My goal is to make a post a day for the month of (M)November. As the topic is MEN, and specifically MENS health...I will likely run out of things to say....but here it is, day one.
161,360 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year... 26,730 will die from it. (https://seer.cancer.gov/statfacts/html/prost.html)

8,850 will be diagnosed with Testicular Cancer...and despite being 100% survivable, 410 will die from it.

Men have NO problem being involved (Joking about, dictating terms, passing legislation) in womens health issues. Why is it not the same the other way around... have you ever asked your father about his prostate, your brother about his testis? Take the last joke you heard about "Amatuer Breast Examiners," and sub in the word Prostate, or Testicals....uncomfortable? Sure... but will it save a life? It really could.
