Where The Money Goes

Our Mo Bros & Mo Sistas support Movember for many different reasons. Do you remember what inspired you to get involved with our global men’s health movement? Whether you have grown a Mo, donated funds, or supported the men in your life, every member of the Mo community is vital to helping us achieve our vision. We’re proud to highlight just a few examples of your funds at work during this most important month.

Movember is about accelerating outcomes for men that will change and save lives now. We focus on funding collaborative programs on a national and global level that are in line with our vision. To date, through the power of the moustache, Movember has funded 577 programs with our men’s health partners in 21 countries. Globally, we focus on the areas of awareness and education, living with and beyond cancer, prostate and testicular cancer research, and men’s mental health. We’re privileged to work with some of the best scientific minds and world-class organizations.

Awareness and education
The growth of a new moustache prompts conversations. These important conversations generate awareness and educate people on the health issues men face, prompt them to take action and alter their behaviors, which is changing and saving lives today.

Living with and beyond cancer

In the United States, Movember funds cancer navigation services through the LIVESTRONG Foundation to help men living with and beyond cancer. Through this program, men have a single, national point of contact that allows them and their loved ones to access a variety of free cancer support services.

Prostate and Testicular cancer research

In the United States, Movember works with the Prostate Cancer Foundation to fund innovative studies like that of Dr. Chinnaiyan from the University of Michigan whose research has lead to the discovery of 30 different types of prostate cancer.

At a global level the Movember Foundation funds the Global Action Plan (GAP), an international research collaboration initiative that is accelerating outcomes by providing researchers from around the world the opportunity to work together on specific research projects.

From the United Kingdom, actor Ray Winstone and professional snooker player, Jimmy White chat about the pioneering testicular cancer research Movember is undertaking.

Mental Health

In Australia, Movember and beyondblue, have created NewAccess, a mental health program employing specially trained coaches to offer individually tailored help to people experiencing low-level psychological distress.

It is a great honor to work with Mo Bros and Mo Sistas who motivate, inspire and stand by us as, together, we fight the good fight on behalf of all men around the world. Your fathers, brothers, husbands, sons, and friends are all benefitting from the global efforts of the Movember community. There is always more work to be done and it is with humble and grateful hearts we push forward, striving for a day when no men will die prematurely of cancer or mental illness and all men will have the support they need to live happy and healthy lives. This is why we Mo. Will you continue to join us on this mission to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health?
