Our Motivation

At Causeway, we're not just about providing software solutions for the construction industry – we're committed to supporting the wellbeing of the people who build our world. Our participation in Movember is a testament to this commitment and a crucial step in our ongoing mission to address the mental health crisis in the construction sector.
The construction industry faces a silent epidemic. In the UK, male construction workers are three times more likely to die by suicide than the average male in the UK. This sobering statistic isn't just a number to us – it represents our clients, our colleagues, and our community. Movember reports that globally, 60 men are lost to suicide every hour, across all sectors. In construction, the risk is particularly high. It's a crisis we can no longer ignore, and it's why we're taking action.
Our journey began with Trevor Steven, former professional footballer, visiting construction sites and engaging in honest conversations with workers. These interactions revealed the depth of the mental health challenges faced by those in the industry and inspired us to do more. It led to the creation of Mindflow, our dedicated charity launching in FY25, which will work year-round to support mental health in construction.
Participating in Movember is a natural extension of this commitment. It allows us to:
Raise awareness about mental health issues in construction
Contribute to the development of crucial resources for our industry
Engage our employees in a meaningful cause that affects us all
Initiate a strategic partnership with Movember that will amplify our impact in the years to come
Our goal is to raise at least £7,000 across our offices, but more importantly, to start conversations and break the stigma surrounding mental health in our industry. We're encouraging our team to get creative with fundraising activities, using the number 60 as inspiration – whether it's running 60km, cycling 60 miles, or coming up with 60 reasons to prioritize mental health.
This Movember campaign is just the beginning. It paves the way for our strategic partnership between Mindflow and Movember, which will provide valuable resources to construction workers through our on-site charity work.
