My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

In April 2022, I lost my father to depression. Since his death, I have struggled to communicate how the loss has impacted me. I never dreamed of sharing my family’s story publicly, but I now recognize that internalizing my feelings is not the right approach. To honor my father’s life, I will be running the 2023 New York City Marathon and raising money for Movember.

Movember is a charity committed to changing the face of men’s health by prioritizing funding for mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Movember recognizes that improving mental health and helping men seek open conversation can reduce the risk of suicide. Since 2003, the organization has raised over $1 billion across 1,250 men’s health projects.

Globally, one man dies by suicide every minute of each day. The loss of a loved one to suicide is painful. I hope that by talking about my experience, I can help even one person suffering to see that finding connection and seeking support is not a sign of weakness.
