My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

I wear a wristband with my friends name on it. Every. Single. Day. I do so to carry his legacy of being a great friend and incredible Marine. The challenge to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro while raising funds only seems fair. 8/16/22 was the 1 Year Anniversary of the day he made the ultimate decision to take his life. 5 Months later, another Marine from my unit made the same decision.

The funds I am raising are going to contribute to Men’s Health, particularly Mental Health. As a Veteran, Mental Health is incredibly overlooked, within the Military, and even more so in the Marine Corps.

The current stat is 22 a day. Every day, 22 Veterans commit suicide. There is a stigma that men cannot talk about their problems or feelings. That stigma seems to be amplified tenfold by the Military.

Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. Movember is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there. Help me stop men dying too young.

Keep up the great work, you'll be able to honor your friends on Uhuru Peak. It's a powerful moment, we still talk about our time up there, sending good vibes to you and this year's crew!
