My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

Each of us wear signs of the pandemic in different ways, most of us only on the inside. Isolation, uncertainty and fear became all too familiar as we faced the crisis. Hope became distant as social distancing kept us from the colleagues, friends and neighbors whose support we rely on. As a global population we experienced the word alone.

My COVID beard is an outward sign of the length of the crisis. I'm offering it for the end of Movember shearing to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. It is ok to feel alone. It is ok to feel distanced and hopeless. It is ok to fear, to struggle and to work on our inside. We can face the pandemic and whatever else life brings us with resilience from inside and support from outside.

Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. Movember is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there. Help me stop men dying too young.

I left in the dark in the fog. It was miserable cold and damp and I almost turned back because the fog was getting me so wet and chilled to the bone.
