My motivation

Fundraising for cause areas including:

Men's health
Prostate cancer
Testicular cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

Fighting cancer is personal for me. It has taken a whole generation of my ancestors. Each of my grandparents died from the disease. And I have other family and friends that have had their own battles with it, including prostate and testicular cancer. Some successful and some not.

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health; in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention. I discovered them in 2017 when my brother-in-law was recovering from treatment for testicular cancer. I wanted to do something to show him my support so I grew a beard and made a donation. Since then, they have grown significantly, and I am excited to rejoin their ranks.

The work Movember does related to men's mental health is also personal for me. I belong to a men's group called F3. It's a movement focused on developing men into leaders in the community. Part of that is being there for each other and looking out for men who may be struggling with mental health issues. Not very long ago, a member local to my area took his own life and it really affected me. So besides the impact Movember has on cancer, I am doing this for those men who will benefit from having the support they need to take care of their mental health thanks to Movember's work.

I would be grateful for any support to help me stop men dying too young.
