Our Motivation

We're raising funds and awareness for all the dads, brothers, sons and mates in our lives in honor of men's health and suicide prevention week. We need your help. Here at SAE of North Dakota State University, we are determined to help curb the stigma in men's mental health. Too many times we have known a brother who has struggled to get what's on his mind off his chest and it has only hurt him and the people who care about him. Every 13.7 minutes, a male dies by suicide in the U.S. alone. On top of this, suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death in the world for those aged 15-24 years of any gender. Please reach out to your loved ones and please don't be afraid to speak out, it could save a life.

In effort to support this cause, our chapter is marching from Grand Forks, ND to Fargo, ND in a movement that would be nearly 80 miles long and last over 24 consecutive hours. The members of our chapter will be doing shifts that switch out every 7.5 miles! The event starts Sept. 8 around 12pm and will end the next day on the 9th at around 12pm. We plan to post updates and live stream the event from our Instagram page (@saendsu) at the time of the event.
