A Mo Mentor epitomizes the core values of Movember and we are honored to have Stan Lee join the ranks. With his iconic Mo, Stan revolutionized the comic industry and now he imparts his wisdom on us.

The Hulk, X-Men, Thor, Iron Man and Spider Man are just a few of the most iconic comics created by one of the most recognizable Mo’s, Stan Lee. Writer, publisher, producer and philanthropist Stan Lee has joined the Movember family as a Mo Mentor. At the age of 89, Stan shares valuable insight and inspiration to motivate Mo Bros and Mo Sistas. “With great Mo comes great responsibility!” Stan knows a little something about the line he wrote years ago, so we couldn’t be more pleased to have the creator of such a fine quote become a Mo Mentor for Movember 2012.

Stan answered some of our burning questions about his moustache and some of our favorite characters that he has created.

Why the moustache and not another form of facial hair?
My wife prefers the moustache and she's my boss.

If your moustache could have a super power what would it be?
Spreading out all over my face and shielding me from blows in a fight.

What is the best piece of advice you ever received? Who was it from?
"No matter what you do, always make sure it's the best you can do."  A teacher told me that when I was in 3rd grade.

You’ve lived a long and healthy life and are a vibrant 89 years old, are there any health tips or life secrets you can share?
Since we all have to work for a living, I think the most important thing you can do is get into a line of work that you care about and enjoy doing.  In that case, it feels more like you're playing than working and it tends to make you enjoy each day's activities and, I think, that keeps you young in spirit.

Among your stellar roster of superheroes, who is the champion of men’s health?
Probably Daredevil.  Although afflicted with blindness he trained himself to do whatever sighted men can do-- and do it even better.

If there were a moustache powered superhero, what would their name be?
I'd make him a Latin-- "El Mustachio."

Which moustache are you most proud of having created - Tony Stark’s, Dum Dum Dugan’s or Fin Fang Foom’s?
Tony Stark's, of course!  I had myself in mind when we did it!



Stan is also serving on the esteemed panel of Mo’s reviewing and rating the Moscars, the annual video awards extravaganza celebrating Mo Bros and Mo Sistas’ creativity with a camera.
