For 30 hairy days during Movember, we join forces to take action for men’s health. By growing moustaches, getting active, hosting events, forming teams, competing, raising funds and talking about men’s health, we become a worldwide movement taking action to stop men dying too young.
So what happens when the 30 days of Movember are done?
The month of Movember may be over, but for us the work continues. The Movember Foundation accepts donations year-round and continues to raise awareness of men’s health issues. We also work hard to ensure that funds are distributed to have the greatest impact on our men’s health focus areas: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.
Our financial year closes on April 30th. That’s when we know how much was raised in the previous year. In May, our auditors (PricewaterhouseCoopers) ensure that our accounts are in order.
Once the audit is completed we’re able to allocate funds to men’s health projects. A lot of time and energy goes into making sure that every donation is put to good use. By funding the most ground-breaking research and innovative projects around, we ensure that your funds have a significant long-term, global impact on men’s health. This work continues year round.
To keep you in the loop, we publish an annual report each year, detailing the previous year’s campaign, financials and men’s health outcomes. The 2016 annual report will be available before Movember 2017. We also publish reports on every program we fund.
What’s next for the Mo community?
Movember is an intense month. We ask a lot of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas, so now’s a good time to give yourself a pat on the back and take a breather.
