My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health

This is my 8th year supporting Movember and raising awareness for all mens health issues our team here at Cisco have collectively raised over $15K dollars in the last seven years.
My motivation is my Dad Alejandrino Valenzuela Sr. and my Uncle John Marshall both are great men in my life who were taken by cancer. I miss them both, their smiles, their stories and so I continue to make a difference.
Coming up on age 50 means starting to monitor for signs asking questions and being proactive. I did my first Prostate Specific Antigen test last month it was simple and the test results were good I have nothing to worry about for now. With two close family members affected by cancer I have to stay vigilant.
Mental health is not a strong area for the men of my generation we were raised to hold it all in and not show “weakness”. It’s not the way even for my self I struggle to shake that “old school” mentality and letting things build up. Step one is the hardest part you just need to pick up the phone and reach out your friends and family will listen.
