My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Testicular cancer
Prostate cancer
Men's health
Mental health and suicide prevention

The Movember Foundation is the only global charity focused solely on men's health, so this Movember I'm getting on board. Participating for my 15th year, I'm raising funds by growing a Mo, moving 60 miles and hosting a Mo-ment to tackle some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young.

#Movember Day 6: What does it take to make you people join in?

3 years ago I hit my goal of $3k and got a tattoo of a moustache to commemorate it the following year. This year I hit the ground running, but now it’s slowed down a bit. Do I need to get Mo Bro tattooed across my ass?

Do I need to start calling people out by name? Don’t make me cyber bully you!

Let’s get to getting and keep men from dying too young! Hit me with a donation. Whether it’s $5 or $500, every little bit helps!

101 Week(s) Ago

Movember Day 5: IT’S ELECTION DAY! And guess what? I VOTED… to grow this bushy ass MOUSTACHE!

Whether you’re voting Democrat or Republican, get out there and make your voice heard! And once you’re done with that, it’s time to open your wallets one more time and throw me a donation.

Did you know testicular cancer strikes young? It’s the most common cancer in young American men. At greater than 95%, the odds of survival for men with testicular cancer are better than good – but for some men, long-term treatment-related side effects, mean quality of life is severely compromised.

Did you know that 1 in 8 men in the US will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime? Across the country, there are almost 3.25 million men living with and beyond the disease. Many are dealing with serious side effects from treatment.

Did you know that in the US, the rate of male suicide is alarmingly high? Approximately 4 in 5 suicides are men.

These could be your fathers, your grandfathers, your brothers, your sons, your friends, your neighbors, your husbands, your partners. Let’s keep them from dying to young!

Lastly, big thank you to Allan Benes & Sean Kisselback for their generous donation and support! Appreciate it, fellas!

Movember Day 4: FUN FACT! It’s not just about growing a ridiculous ‘stache this month, it’s also about moving!

This Movember I’ll be moving 60 miles for the 60 men we lose each hour, every hour, to cancer and suicide - the men who should still be here today! Just got 5 miles locked in this afternoon!

You don’t have to be an ultra-athlete to get involved, just put one foot in front of the other! Feel free to join me or if you’re more comfortable from the sidelines, feel free to support me!

Let’s get moving and save some lives!

Also, big THANK YOU to Claudia Niezgoda for her support and generosity! Almost a sixth of the way to my goal!

Movember Day 3: 3 days in and well on my way with $903 raised against a goal of $6,000.

I want to give a big THANK YOUS to Jackie Kennedy, Melissa Koepplinger and Bryan Harrold. Y’all are the real heroes this Movember!

It’s not too late to get involved and join my team, or support me with a donation.

Movember Day 2: you know what lets you savor the flavor of bourbon even longer? A nice bushy moustache to soak it! Here’s to whetting my whistle and my whiskers.

On a serious note, THANK YOU! $739 raises in a little over 24 hours! You all are INCREDIBLE! Well on my way to my $6,000 goal for my 14th year?

Big THANK YOU’S to: Julie Theibert, Jeff Markowitz, Ryan Kibiloski, Susan & Craig Ryan, and my incredible girlfriend, Lisa Waldrop.
Y’all are the real HEROES of this campaign and I’ll always be grateful for your continued generosity and support!

Also, I’d like to give a shout out to my motley crew who’ve chosen to join me on this hairy journey! Thank you Matt Keyes, Jay Hatch, Bruce Peak, Scott Murphy & Dave Theibert. Appreciate all y’all!

Movember Day 1: YEAR 14 IS A GO!

If you’ve been on this journey with me the last 13 years, you know the drill. Donate and help stop men from dying too young!

With your donation and support, together we can change the face of men’s health by funding critical research and initiatives focused on testicular cancer, prostate cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

Day 30: DONE AND DUSTED, FOLKS!

Together, we did it! $5,001.52 raised against a goal of $5,000! HELL YEAH! And not only that, I knocked out 60 miles between walking, running and cycling this month! That’s 60 miles for the 60 men suicide takes globally every hour! That’s for my grandfather, that’s for Dan, that’s for anyone who lost their battle with mental health.

I want to give big THANK YOU’s to Scott Murphy, Brett Halleman, Walter Zausch, Teresa Hernandez and Whiskey Thief Distilling Co. for their extremely generous donations and support! Without you and everyone else, this wouldn’t have been possible! Y’all are the real heroes and MVPs of this movement! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Until next year, that’s a wrap!

150 Week(s) Ago

Day 29: We’re in the final stretches now! $3,870 raised against a goal of $5,000. Would love to hit at least $4,000!

I want to give big THANK YOUs to Erin Murphy, Bob Dickson and Sandy Welsh for their generosity and support! You all are the real heroes of this movement!

A little over a day left! Let’s get after it and change the face of men’s health to keep the men in our lives from dying too young!

150 Week(s) Ago

Day 26: 1985. 1956. 1933.

I might’ve lost one grandfather this week, but I still got one left. Happy 90th (Early) Birthday, Poppy!

Shout out to my dad Scott Murphy for joining me on this hairy journey this year!

And big THANK YOU to Matthew Zausch for his generous donation and support! Appreciate you dude!

Day 24: If N*Sync is doing a reunion, then so are some of the Thiccc Boys! Great seeing Dave Theibert & Jay Hatch and thief families today! Much needed given the last few days.

Want to say THANK YOU to Kathy Murphy, Linda Sharo, Natalie Ramesra, Keyla Teixeira and Shelby Dye for their generous donations and support! You all are the BEST!

If you haven’t gotten a chance to donate, now’s the time. 1 week left!

151 Week(s) Ago

Day 22: FUCK CANCER.

That’s it. That’s all I got today, folks.

151 Week(s) Ago

Day 21: Holy smokes, y’all are incredible! In a day, we just jumped up almost $900 from $2,560 to $3,418!

Big THANK YOUs to:
Jay Hatch
Michael Clark
Cole Lancaster
Jeff Penson
Eric Nash
Allan Benes
Katie Murphy
Dave & Jen Theibert
and Keith Aring
You all are ROCKSTARS!

You’ve also got me absolutely jacked! 9 days left, time for a challenge! 2 years ago I said if I could hit $3k, I’d get a Movember tattoo. I hit it, so last year I got the ink. It hasn’t held strong on my finger over the last 368 days, so if I can hit $5k this year, I’ll get another one!

Who’s going to help me hit that goal?

151 Week(s) Ago

Day 20: I could post another annoying moustache picture, but instead I’d like to take a moment to say THANK YOU to the real HEROES of my Movember campaign! Honestly, I’m just a walking billboard for Movember, the leading charity changing the face of men’s health on a global scale. It surprisingly easy to grow a moustache and have conversations around key areas of health like mental health, suicide prevention, testicular cancer and prostate cancer.

This group are the real heroes. The ones who’ve supported me along this journey. Who deal with my social media spam and have to stare at this furry caterpillar growing on my upper lip. Who listened as I tried to recruit them as a Mo Bro or Mo Sister. Their generosity will help continue to fund over 1,250 projects in 20 countries, creating true impact across countless lives. Those lives could be our fathers, our sons, our brothers, our husbands, our partners, our friends, etc. Hopefully, we can help keep the men in our lives from dying too young.

So who’s next? Who’s going to step up to make a change and impact?

151 Week(s) Ago

Day 18: Growing this moustache has been a barrel of fun!

But in all seriousness, I’m a little over halfway to my goal with $2,560 raises against a goal of $5,000. I’ve got some work to do…

I want to give a big THANK YOU to Drake Cary, John McCann, Ian Schechter, and Matthew Keyes! Thanks, gentlemen! Love & Respect!

If you’re sitting on the sidelines, now’s the time to get in on the action! Whether it’s your father, your son, your brother, your husband, your partner, or just your friend, together with your support and donations we can keep the men in our lives from dying too young!

151 Week(s) Ago

Day 15: We’re at the halfway point folks! 15 days down, 15 more to go!

THANK YOU to Dwayne Cooke and Michael Zeiler for their generous donations! You rock, gentlemen!

Currently sitting at $2,110 against a goal of $5,000. Let’s lock in it! If you haven’t donated yet, what’re you waiting for?

152 Week(s) Ago

Day 14: We’re almost halfway through the month, and I’m about 2/5’s to my goal of $5,000 with $2,010 raised so far!

I want to give a big THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me so far! I know times are tough, but there’s no amount too small or too big! So whether it’s $1 or $10, your impact will help men from dying too young due to poor mental health, suicide, testicular and prostate cancer by funding critical research aimed at combatting those issues. Together, let’s change the face of men’s health!

152 Week(s) Ago

Day 11: Shout out to my teammate Cole Lancaster for the sick photobomb lol

I want to give some big THANK YOU’S to Sarah Farmer, Cindle Taylor, Joe Fontana and my Aunt Phyllis Nornhold for their generosity and support! You all are the real HEROES of this movement and I appreciate your contributions to keep men from dying too young due to testicular cancer, prostate cancer, mental health struggles and suicide.

If you haven’t supported me yet, now’s the time! And if you don’t like me, at least support the cause and hit my boy Cole with a donation.

152 Week(s) Ago

Day 10: Almost a third of the way to my goal of $5,000 raised thanks to some solid donations from Jeff & Ashley Chesman, Max O. Alaya Cañizares, and Claudia Niezgoda!

THANK YOU! Currently sitting at $1,580 raised in 10 days. OUTSTANDING! Can I hit the halfway point in the next 5 days and move that needle to $2,500?

If you haven’t done so, feel free to support me on this hairy journey with a donation or share this post to drive reach! These funds could one day impact your fathers, sons, husbands, partners, or brothers. Let’s keep men from dying too young!

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
