My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Prostate cancer
Testicular cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

My uncle died at age 68 of prostate cancer. He was having lot of backaches- he had excellent health insurance supposedly and it was through AT&T where he had worked for decades but the doctors didn’t catch it until it was stage 4. He tried everything but died soon after. He was liked by so many people I heard hundreds of people showed up to the funeral in Maryland. Globally, more than 1.4M men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year. Also I want to raise awareness of men’s mental health and suicide. My best friend’s son had Asperger’s and schizophrenia and he died by his own hand at age 28. Our mental health “system “…our non inclusive and ignorant of serious, chronic serious mental illnesses society- our apathetic, self absorbed society failed him as it fails millions of Americans with Asperger disease and schizophrenia each day. I heard a mother of someone say there is no place for our loved ones with schizophrenia to belong…in the larger society I mean. People say oh they can go someplace with others who have the same illnesses- as if the other people with schizophrenia will automatically accept people with same illnesses. Also the person may feel the stigma from our society and internalize it and deny anything is wrong with themselves and want nothing to do with other people who have schizophrenia. I heard a psychologist say people with schizophrenia are the loneliest people and I believe it’s because to hang out with people who still have symptoms of delusions and hallucinations you have to be very patient, compassionate and look for the feeling behind the hallucinations and delusions and ask the person if that’s how they are feeling, after you identify the feeling, and usually they will say yes and it helps them feel understood and connected- not isolated. We have much to do to motivate our society to care about marginalized persons who struggle with mental health.
