I'm joining Movember in order to help the glorious YoYo Boomer Club and our efforts for bringing awareness to men's health, both physical and mental. I may not be the poster child for either, but I can at least participate for a good cause.

In order to mimic the natural growth of the lip caterpillars, I propose a Grower/Shower YoYo Challenge! Starting with a shorter string, I will increase the length by 1-foot every week and show results

Update Week 5:

1. Donate to the cause: Movember - ✅
2. Light a yoyo on fire (still don’t recommend doing this) - ✅
3. Beard from scratch, no trim - ✅
4. YoYo Horse Participation - “Hor” ✅
5. String Grow Challenge: Current Level - String Length | 6 Feet ✅

6-Foot String…What can I say other than “I’m glad this is over.” It’s a pain. Same height as me basically flying in every direction of the room. I smacked myself more than a couple of times. All my throws felt like they were in slow-mo, string was being gobbled up by the yo-yo, wrapping all around my hand, my shoulder was sore after all the awkward binding I was doing, and now my regular length string just feels wayyyyy too short, haha! It was interesting, but not one I will be going back to any time soon.

Week 5:
The beard from scratch, came in nicely, but jonesing for a trim at this point, will be happy tomorrow when I can finally trim it back to how I like. All in all, was a fun experience though, and more than happy that I got to participate!

Update Week 4:

1. Light a yoyo on fire (still don’t recommend doing this) - ✅
2. String Grow Challenge: Current Level - String Length | 5 Feet

5-foot string is unacceptable, lol. String is flying everywhere, hooking on stuff, I’m hitting the ground, the ceiling and generally just look like I’m participating in a ribbon dance I feel like. Not a fan, but interesting for certain. One week left, 6-foot string I don’t even want to think about, but it’s going to be an experience, haha!

Went with a “tower based” picture trick theme this time. Thought it would be cool with the longer strings, but it definitely made it weird. Hard to keep tension in the strings, and just generally off-kilter with a lot of my existing muscle memory. Hope you enjoy! Grand finale next week!

Week 4:
The beard is starting to get a little too long for me, past the point when I would normally trim it. I can feel the whiskers tickling my lips, they’re saying “trim me, trim meeeeeee.” Trying to stay strong.

Update Week 3:

1. Light a yoyo on fire (still don’t recommend doing this) - ✅
2. String Grow Challenge: Current Level - String Length | 4 Feet

Went with a little "Magic" based string trick selection for this week!
4-Foot String Length. This is a little longer than what I have been used to, but still in a comfortable range. Taking some getting used to but enjoyable so far, and at least close enough that I can still kind of know what I'm doing, haha.

Update Week 2:

1. Light a yoyo on fire (still don’t recommend doing this) - ✅
2. String Grow Challenge: Current Level - String Length | 3 Feet

3-Foot String Length. This is a little closer to what I use regularly, still a little short so I found myself getting these big ol’ mitts wrapped up in themselves at times, but it is overall much more comfortable to play with.

Update Week 1:

1. Light a yoyo on fire (still don't recommend doing this) - ✅
2. Grower/Shower Challenge: Current Level - String Length | 2 Feet

2-Foot String Length. Very interesting to play with, especially on unresponsive. The weight and shortness of the string make it difficult to get good power off the throw initially, and binds are very slippy. Entertaining, but definitely like half of what I am used to, haha.

I’m excited to take part in this challenge while supporting the YoYo community as well as the Movember foundation.

My personal challenges for the month are as follows:
* Donate to the cause: Movember
* In order to mimic the natural growth of the lip caterpillars, I propose a Grower/Shower YoYo Challenge! Starting with a shorter string, I will increase the length by 1-foot every week and show results
* Light a yoyo on fire (still don’t recommend doing this) - ✅
* Start the beard from scratch, grow it out unencumbered. Bonus: End the month with a killer mo for a grand finale.

All that being said, starter pic that shall not make the light of day other than here.
