My motivation

My name is Anton Nootenboom, also known as the Barefoot Dutchman. I have spent 10 years in the Dutch Army and went on 3 tours to the Middle East.

In 2019 I became the first and only person ever to reach base camp of Mount Everest barefoot. In 2021 I set the Guinness World Record of longest barefoot hike. 3019 km along the east coast of Australia to raise awareness and funds for men's mental health.

Now I will break my own record, by walking 5000 km from LA to NYC, in the United States.

Why?

Because men do not feel safe to speak up whenever in need.

To show that our body and mind are way stronger than we make ourselves believe and that it has got nothing to do with being a man or a woman, but everything to do with being human.

But I can't do this by myself.

I'm going to need your help to raise awareness and spread the message. The more people we can reach the more we can help.

Thank you for bringing awareness to a topic I see as under appreciated.
It was humbling to walk with you and is compelling to hear the peoples’ stories.

I wish I could have donated more & also wish I could have driven to NY to walk with you.. but your purpose & foundation means so much for me as I struggle with my mental health everyday. Keep standing for what you believe in. It gives us hope! Thank you!

I donate in honor of my Dad who passed away 4 years ago. (52 for the year he was born) He would say (about my therapy) that there should be a point where you can handle it on your own and there is some truth to that but sometimes we need to ask for help. For however long it takes to feel better again. I also donate in name for my brothers. Thank you for what you’re doing!! I just watched you cross the finish line. Thank you for your advocacy
