Mental health and suicide prevention

I’m Elliott Nelson and am gearing up for a meaningful adventure: the Barfoot & Thompson Marathon in Auckland, New Zealand on November 3rd, 2024. I am dedicating my run to a cause very close to my heart, supporting men's health through Movember.

Movember has been making strides in men's health since 2003, addressing critical issues like mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Their global efforts fund vital research, create programs that advocate for men’s health, and provide support that truly saves lives. By backing Movember, we contribute to their mission of breaking down barriers and fostering lifesaving conversations.

This marathon is particularly personal for me. I run in honor of my cousin, Braedon Christopher Metz, who died by suicide at only 24 years old. Suicide is a devastating matter that is too often met with silence and stigma, yet impacts millions of families worldwide. It is time we bring this conversation to the forefront to prevent such profound loss.

Your support means everything to me, whether through donation, motivational words, or by sharing my mission with others. It makes a significant difference that funds essential resources and fosters discussions around men's health challenges.
