My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention
Prostate cancer

I am participating in honor of the three greatest male role models I have had in my life, who were all affected in some way by the causes highlighted by Movember.

Both of my grandfathers, Patrick Ross and Ronald Hanson, were affected by prostate cancer in their lifetime. Both battled bravely and we were very blessed that both men showed strength and hope throughout their struggles. I feel it is a great way to remember them by raising awareness for a disease that affected these two great men in my life.

I am also participating in the memory of my father, Tim. Many think that Movember is just about various cancers that affect men, but it is also about the numerous men we lose every year to mental health ailments, especially suicide and depression. My father passed away in 2022 after a lengthy battle with mental health issues, specifically depression. It was hard to watch him struggle so silently and for so long in the manner he did. It was even harder to lose my greatest role model and the man I continue to strive to be like every day. I see it as my responsibility to honor him and continue his memory and legacy by raising awareness for all of those who may struggle, both inwardly and outwardly.

Although it is appreciated, it does not take a large monetary donation to make a difference in this cause. You can contribute by joining the Move Campaign, which encourages setting a movement or distance goal to help promote healthy living. Every cent donated, movement started, and word spoken helps us raise awareness to an issue that affects millions of men around the world each and every day.

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this Movember I'm joining them. Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me prevent men from dying too young.
