Once again, Movember has come around and this year things are a little different. While Movember is focused on all aspects of men's health, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, breast cancer (yes, men can and do get breast cancer) and mental health, due to the unusual circumstances of 2020, there is an even bigger focus on mental health this year. It has been a tough year for many around the world and us guys are terrible about talking about it, acknowledging that we have problems or getting help. Enough is enough, too many men die each year unnecessarily and we all need to recognize the problem and commit to doing something. So, with regards to the various types of cancer, if you find any odd lumps, bumps or unusual pains, get it checked out!
When it comes to mental health, be aware that we all need help at some time in our lives so don't be afraid to reach out! Reach out if you need someone to talk to and reach out if you think a Bro may need some support. I'm available 24/7, there's always beer in the fridge and a pot of tea or coffee on. If you're not close enough to drop in, then pick up the phone and we'll chat.
So I'm growing my Mo again this year and will use this platform to spread the word and raise awareness.
Whether you choose to donate is entirely up to you, every pound, dollar, yen or euro counts and is appreciated, but please take the opportunity to talk about men's health. Use me as the excuse, here's your opening line.
