Better late than never! As y'all probably already know last year I was a Movember Student Ambassador at WSU. If y'all didn't know this information or have no idea what Movember is, we'll let me catch ya up to speed. Movember is the leading organization dedicated in raising funds and awareness for men's prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's mental health/suicide prevention. Last year Movember raised over $18.1 Million dollars for the above causes. Our little rag tag group of mo bros and mo sisters at WSU raised about $15,000 of that 18.1 million. Although we may have only raised a small portion of that big hunk of a number, anything helps. Although, I may no longer be a student at WSU, I am still helping my friends in the Movember Wazzu community raise funds this year! Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. 3 out of 4 suicides here in the U.S are men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. Movember is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there.
