Mental health and suicide prevention

I remember that day. I walked into my room and threw myself into my bed. I was tired of feeling like I didn’t fit in, like I would always be a failure. I was tired of feeling as if I was on the outside of life and looking in.
So when I lifted my head and saw my bottle of pills just sitting there I felt as if that was the answer I was looking for. I took the entire bottle and laid down. I folded my arms over my chest and just waited.
I remember feeling the individual systems in my body seemed to slow. I felt every step in that whole process. All I had to do was keep my mouth shut and close my eyes. However one of the side effects of killing yourself slowly is having time to reconsider, time to realize what in fact you’re doing.
I tried to make myself throw up but it was too late and I told my parents. They raced me to facet medical center which was ill equipped to death with this emergency. So I lay there dying and my parents had to watch. I resigned myself to that fact. I let go and I felt a piece unlike I had ever felt wash over me. All the pain that I had been feeling seemed to wash away instantly. I closed my eyes and I was ready to see my Grandfather again.
That’s when the Dr. slapped me and I opened my eyes enough to see my parents, to see their pain. That’s when I began to fight back so I endured a few days with charcoal being sent up my nose and down my throat. That’s something I will never forget, that’s something I don’t want anyone else to suffer through.
Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

My nephew committed suicide a little over a year ago. This is a very important cause that doesn't get enough attention. Thank you for bringing this issue to light..
