My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

I’ve participated in Movember for the last 12 years. My initial motivation was to pay tribute to my Uncle Jimmy who passed away from Melanoma in 1997. Although skin cancer is not male specific, Uncle Jim had one hell of a stache and in the years since, each of the three male specific issues have impacted people in my life that I love.

2013: My dad was diagnosed, and successfully treated, for Prostate cancer (also the proud owner of a fine stache). However, since prostate cancer runs in my family, I am more likely to be diagnosed as well.

2018: I witnessed some of my closest friends take on their own battles with mental health, which was the most helpless I have ever felt. Thankfully, they’ve continued to fight and are doing much better today.

2019: One of my best friends was diagnosed with testicular cancer on 10/17/2019 at 27 years old. As of today he is cancer free.

MOvember has been a way for me to not just pay tribute to friends and family that have succumbed to their respective fights, but find fun and lighthearted ways to raise awareness and money while celebrating those we love who are battling these life-altering issues today.
