Why it matters

Navigating the stressors of student life is difficult enough without the added responsibility of being an elite level athlete.

In fact, Movember surveyed 770 student-athletes and discovered that they are hesitant to seek mental health services, largely due to the stigma surrounding mental illness.

1 in 4 athletes have reported having elevated anxiety symptoms, and 1 in 5 reported feeling elevated symptoms of depression.

MindMoves aims to help students build resilience, manage stress, and improve their overall mental wellbeing, without breaking a sweat.

What do the athletes have to say?
College athletes often demand an excellence out of themselves in all aspects of life. To make sure the external is flowing in harmony, the internal must be healthy. MindMoves helps share how our peers have traversed this road successfully and what we’ve learned along the way.

Opendorse is a leading platform for endorsements and NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) opportunities for collegiate athletes in the US.

The platform facilitates opportunities at every career stage. Athletes have the tools to plan, promote, create, track, and manage their endorsements and NIL opportunities.

What is mental health literacy?

Mental health literacy means understanding and managing mental health.

Many student-athletes experience high levels of stress, which, if left unchecked, can lead to unhealthy coping mechanisms.

MindMoves aims to address this by teaching athletes how to identify early signs of mental health challenges, and encourages open conversations to reduce the stigma.

How can MindMoves help student-athletes?

MindMoves offers a series of interactive courses that guide student-athletes through building mental resilience.

Athletes access video content and downloadable resources, so they’re never without help. The program covers a range of topics including stress management, recognizing signs of mental health challenges in themselves and others, and how to seek help.
