In 2022, over 14,400 people across 1,000 companies participated in Movember. Of those, 110 organizations and more than 2,440 of their employees became members of the exclusive Movember Business Club (MBC) and raised over $4.92 million for men’s health. Our workplace community plays a key role in helping Movember fund world-class programs year-round that are making a tangible difference in the lives of men and their families.
We thank all our generous MBC companies for their continued support and enthusiasm in championing our efforts to raise funds and awareness for mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. We’d like to take a moment to spotlight select leading companies and delve into the strategies that consistently propel them to surpass expectations in the realm of men’s health.
Securing the top spot on the MBC leaderboard, Lord Abbett & Co. LLC team raised over $200,000! The team’s success derives from hosting Mo challenges throughout November to get employees excited about fundraising. These challenges encompass impactful rewards, such as exclusive opportunities like participating in the iconic bell ringing ceremony at Nasdaq when specific fundraising milestones are met. To cap off their month-long fundraising endeavors, they culminate in an annual Best Mo Contest, where participants share heartfelt stories about the significance of fundraising for Movember in their lives.
At Cox Enterprises, the annual tradition of Movember is not just about raising crucial funds, it’s about boosting awareness for men’s health all while building community across departments and divisions. The company makes a strong connection between fun and fundraising through their annual live, holiday-themed cooking class. In a fiery display of commitment to men's health, one of Cox's workplace captains consistently upholds her promise by fearlessly consuming a Carolina Reaper pepper at the event! Last year, they raised over $142,000 by creating fun activities for their 100+ team members as well as educational opportunities at their company health fair to share Movember resources.
Since 2017, The Estée Lauder Companies has raised more than $183,000 driven by efforts of the Men’s Employee Resource Group (MERG). Throughout the month, they were dedicated to inspiring employees to prioritize health. Collaborating with HR, they launched a unique incentive program on Virgin Pulse. Those who had screenings for prostate or testicular cancer earned points in their internal rewards system. Over 60 people joined in, showcasing their commitment to health and supporting Movember through donations and awareness.
At the Pringles kickoff event, with a virtual audience of hundreds, the company raised an impressive $6,400 in just 60 minutes! Attendees dressed up in costume, shared their Movember motivations, and highlighted the importance of physical activity. For every $1,000 raised, everyone did 60-seconds of movement. The event even sparked a friendly leader competition, with the last-placed leader attending a month-end leadership meeting in costume, complete with a handlebar moustache!
As a way to highlight the importance of connections, the New York based CIBC team invited new and established employees to a special Movember networking event. The event created opportunities for employees to build relationships, share their stories, and encouraged many to get involved by joining the team or donating to CIBC’s efforts. Since 2016, CIBC has raised over $137,000!
We're grateful to all the companies who remain deeply committed to fundraising, generating awareness, and supporting Movember in a variety of ways — knowing that their efforts have a positive impact on millions of men across the globe. We hope you will join this powerful game changing community.
