Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

In 2023 I ran the NYC Marathon with Movember for my Father, Joe Kallasy, and I want to continue the efforts to support men’s mental and physical well-being.

My Father passed away about 5 years ago (crazy), from a cause that is unknown, because my family did not elect for an autopsy (I wish we had).

I truly believe that depression played a MASSIVE role in his death.

He was a strong willed, hard-working man, who liked to be a helper and the guy who tried to do it himself.

Having inherited that strong will and limited willingness to ask for help or share my emotions, I know what he was going through to some degree.

Though him and I had many conversations where I attempted to suggest or offer help, I regret everyday that I did not push harder, nor better understand the potential avenues for help.

Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence.

This is my way of helping to initiate those conversations and possibly help prevent other men, like my father, from dying - and allow them to find purpose and positivity again.

Help me stop men from dying too young.

Honored to donate to this cause around men’s mental health! I love how you open up about your dad. My father took his life almost 20 years ago, and like you said.. I wish my family and I understood the severity of his struggles and got him the help he needed before it was too late. This is going to help so many people and just the conversation alone helps people feel seen and less alone in their experience.

Those last miles of a marathon are tough and it takes so much to hold on. It’s a metaphor for when you’re going through a rough mental health spot. Congrats on holding on and for doing it for those who need some help holding on in their own way.
