I’m back for year three of my Movember journey and pumped to grow some handsome facial hair for a great cause.
As many are aware, this took a very personal turn for me for me two years ago following my routine 45 year old colonoscopy, when I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. I had zero symptoms, so needless to say, my family and I were shocked! Thanks to my amazing teams at HealthPartners, Mayo, and MNGI I am now clear and feeling good.
I am the luckiest person in the world to have the most amazing family, friends, and community who carried me through the last couple years. I couldn’t have made it without the outpouring I received of love, support, lots of food, and so much more. I am so thankful, and find it hard to put into words, my gratitude to all who texted, called, sent good vibes, or did anything to support me and my family. Now, through Movember, I want to help as many people as possible.
I encourage everyone to get a colonoscopy and get any necessary testing! As scary as the tests may seem, take it from me personally they are not too bad, and are the easiest way to detect anything as early as possible. You also get a really great nap out of it, and as a napping expert, I know.
I am happy to discuss any of my journey with anyone who is interested in learning more.
Let’s get the awkward conversations going!
I encourage everyone to support me, my team, and Movember, as it is the leading charity changing the face of men's health. I know many other people whose lives have been impacted by men’s cancers and mental health issues. I will do anything to help them and people like them as they work through these issues. Help me stop people dying too young.
