My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Prostate cancer

I am running in the 2025 NYC Marathon to represent the never-ending journey of men's health and to specifically honor my Dad, who died 15 years ago.

When I was 16, I lost my dad to a 3-year battle with prostate cancer. Watching my father go through this battle and losing him at such a formative age completely defined my life (I can still picture my 15 year old self taking him to his chemotherapy treatments). What makes it most difficult is that it could have all been prevented. He avoided going to the doctor, something men do far too often. By the time he finally got checked out and diagnosed, the cancer was already at Stage 4. We simply caught it too late.

This experience (or lack thereof) is why I feel so strongly about men taking care of their health. Because of this loss, I graduated high school without my dad there. I went through my entire 20's without my dad there. My brother had his first child without my dad there. Next year, I'll officially cross the treshold of spending more of my life without my dad vs with. Who knows where this life would be today had he gotten to the doctor sooner?

I am who I am today because of his battle with cancer. And I often use running as an outlet for the challenges, experiences, & emotions I face in this life. Whether it be a run with friends or after a long workday, running has always given me a chance to be outside, move my body, and process my thoughts & feelings.

2025 will be the 15 year anniversary of losing my father to prostate cancer. It would be an honor to commemorate his death by running for him at the New York Marathon
