No matter how you slice it, SUNSET® is passionate about two things: moustaches and healthy living.

SUNSET® is teaming up with Movember for the fifth year in a row to help raise funds and awareness for men’s health. Get your moustache on this month with specialty packages of SUNSET Kumato®, the uniquely brown tomato™, featuring a removable moustache sticker. Peel, pose, and post pics of yourself and others with the MOKUMATO for a chance to win prizes from SUNSET®. Then wash and enjoy your tomatoes, ripe with the knowledge you’re enjoying a delicious fresh treat that is oh-so-good for you!

It’s no secret that eating fresh fruits and veggies is essential for great health. It’s the mission of our friends at SUNSET® to inspire healthy living by delivering consistently flavorful experiences. No one wants run-of-the-mill produce—so SUNSET® works hard to deliver flavorful, greenhouse-grown tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and berries. Oh, and all of their products—including Kumato—are Non-GMO Project Verified. Naturally.

Here’s why it may be a tomato a day that keeps the doctor away:

Tomatoes are a natural source of lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that may help prevent certain diseases, like prostate cancer. Lycopene works by protecting the body against free radicals, waste products from various chemical reactions in our cells that can build up and harm the body[2]. There is also evidence that high levels of lycopene may decrease the risk of stroke[3].

  • Your eyes will thank you: tomatoes contain both lycopene and lutein, carotenoids that can protect the eye against light-induced damage, the development of cataracts, and age-related macular degeneration[4].
  • Tomatoes are an excellent source of beta carotene, an antioxidant that is converted into Vitamin A in the body[5]. Vitamin A supports a healthy immune system and may also lower your risk of certain cancers.
  • Move over orange juice. A single tomato can provide up to 40% of the Vitamin C your body needs in a day[6].

In 2014, Men’s Health magazine voted them one of the best foods for men, and rightly so: tomatoes are a nutrient-dense superfood.[1]
