Happy Thanksgiving

Author: Movember
The holiday season is all about being grateful for family, friends, and all the good things in your life. This Thanksgiving, we’re thankful for you and our entire Movember community who have stepped up to stop men dying too young.
We love Thanksgiving not only for the food and fun, but because it’s a perfect opportunity to start conversations around men’s health and continue fundraising throughout the holiday. How? Here are some ways you can make the most of your passion for Movember at the Thanksgiving table:
  • Keep your moustache primped and preened – a dapper moustache is a dapper moustache.
  • Turn Uncle Al’s crack about your moustache into a discussion about men’s health, and a donation to your Mo Space. Also encourage him to get regular check-ups.
  • Are you hosting Thanksgiving this year? Make it a Movember Thanksgiving and show all the ways your guests can get involved. For example, put the facts on the table:
    • Movember has funded over 1,200 men’s health programs in 20 countries
    • The Movember community has raised over $837 million to date
    • 1 in 9 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
    • In the US, testicular cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in young men.
  • So your Movember Thanksgiving went well; save for Uncle Bob’s emotional outburst about the lack of potato salad. Now’s the time to do some follow up. Did your cousin actually set up their Mo Space page like they said they would? For all the guests who said they’d “donate when they got home,” a friendly reminder text never hurts!
  • In the mood to keep celebrating? Find a Movember event near you.
  • Your moustache is hairier and more prevailing than ever; don’t stop now. Keep on raising that awareness for Movember and men’s health – share your Mo Space with the world. It’s never too late to support Movember.
  • Also don’t forget to start a Facebook fundraiser with your customized Mo Space to get additional donations and hit your fundraising goal.
You have the power of the Mo with you this holiday season. From all of us here at the Movember Foundation, we are so very grateful for your passion and enthusiasm. Together we can change the face of men’s health.

Keep on Mo-ing!
