A Vegas Ad Agency Gives Back

Author: Movember
A few years ago, a group of women at SK+G Advertising in Las Vegas heard about Movember and decided it would be a wonderful cause to have the agency get involved with. I think they just wanted to see what a bunch of us would look like with moustaches....They announced the campaign and about ten of us decided to take on the challenge.

As Movember started, things began to get much more competitive. We formed teams and set up websites to see who could raise the most. Since we all worked at an ad agency, some of us started to use our creative talents to gain a competitive advantage. I started to draw illustrations of owls for donations, another guy who is a professional photographer started to sell prints of his work, while others just simply delved into old fashioned salesmanship. We all knew that in the midst of the fun - we were doing something that touched many lives. The hard truth that cancer had attacked men in our lives and that we could someday be on that list too. We all thought it was great to partake in something so engaging, that formed an even closer bond between the people at our agency.

On the last day of Movember, we held an event in our agency lounge where everyone voted for the winners via applause. It was a month full of fun, laughter and doing something for the greater good of humanity.

Here’s to all Mo Bros and Mo Sistas in the world fighting for the cause. Mo on.
