My motivation

Fundraising for cause areas including:
Prostate cancer

It has been a dream of mine to run the NYC Marathon ever since my first marathon back in June of 2015 because it just so happens to fall on or close to my birthday each year, which is November 2nd. Running has been a passion of mine since I gave up competitive sports in high school. Running is a healing process for me where my mind, body and spirit coast and the world around me slows down. This mind-body-spirit connection was something my Uncle Philip James Brown (whom had prostate cancer) found when he would swim.

PJ was a man of love, passion and heart. I will be running the NYC Marathon and raising money for The Movember Foundation in his honor and in honor of all the lives he touched. In a speech PJ wrote for a cancer research gala he said "Miracles are possible big and small. We need you now. As you well know cancer is relentless. We patients need you to continue to be relentless in your collaboration, in your imagination, to work together in a unified mission to find a cure sooner than later. Your mission to find a cure inspires me to live. I have hope and faith in you to find a cure, a cure for all cancer patients. I have deep love and gratitude for all you are doing ... May you all be blessed with miracles of discovery that save lives."

PJ is no longer with us, but if he was his support and deep appreciation for individuals, families and friends affected by cancer would be felt, heard and acted on. And so I pledge to run for my love of the sport and more importantly to honor PJ as I raise money for The Movember Project cause - tackling prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

The Facts: Globally, more than 1.4M men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year. The Movember Foundation is working to halve the number of deaths from prostate cancer by 2030, and I want to help them get there. Help me stop men dying too young.
