Target: $6,000
Scott has raised $12,505 since 2017.

My motivation

My Grandpa Padgett is a prostate cancer survivor. In 1991 my family heard the words “I have prostate cancer” come out of the mouth of a man I adored. Later in his life he died of lung cancer but our family was drastically changed by his first cancer diagnosis.

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men worldwide The Movember Foundation is working to halve the number of deaths from prostate cancer by 2030, and I want to help them get there.

I am raising money to help fight this disease by participating in the Movember Foundation’s awareness campaign. Men across the nation and around the world will be growing a mustache as part of the campaign. I will be growing a full beard as part of the process. Let’s just say it is a TV compromise. Either way it is my way of participating to help take away the fear of hearing the words “I have prostate cancer” and hopefully raise more awareness of this deadly disease.

The Movember Foundation is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this Movember I'm joining them. Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young.

What solidified my drive to do this again this year is speaking with amazing North Texas men who have battled these diseases and their courage to tell their story.

My dad died because of prostate cancer--it was caught too late and it invaded his body. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2011 and treated in 2012. I am a contributor to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. They support PCa researchers and have good materials for those diagnosed with PCa to help them make choices of treatment and also diet, etc.

Can't thank you enough for everything you're doing to raise funds and awareness for the cause Scott. It's amazing to see you use your platform to make such an impact. Best of luck getting to your $6,000 goal down the homestretch and just let me know if there's anything we can do to help!
