Health is one of the rare instances where gender inequality favors women. I went in for my annual wellness visit today and mentioned Movember to my NP. She told me about a medical conference she recently attended where a male doctor gave a talk on ED. He opened by pointing out his presentation was one of only two male-focused talks on the schedule at the conference. The audience apparently laughed, and the speaker replied with, “that wasn’t meant as a joke.” My NP (a woman) agreed that in the medical industry they typically focus a lot more attention and energy on women’s health and they need to do better.
You can help change the face of men’s health with a donation to Movember. Donations go towards research, patient support, and awareness for a variety of male-focused physical and mental health efforts.

year Mo Sista
I have an awesome husband. I also have a wonderful brother, and an amazing dad. They are three people who MOtivate me (see what I did there?) to help support men's physical and mental health. I also have dozens of cousins, uncles, in-laws, and friends who are guys, and I want them all to live long, happy, and healthy lives. Since I can't hover around them constantly to make sure they all eat right, get a little exercise, and seek help when needed, I will raise money for research and awareness instead!
