My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Mental health and suicide prevention

You are probably wondering why I’m coming to you for donations in September vs. November this year?

Why? I’m supporting a great cause again in 2021 as I lace up my sneakers for the Movember Foundation team running the Chicago Marathon on October 10th. I'll be ramping to an 18-20m run towards the end of the month.

Men’s health and the other initiatives that the Movember Foundation supports (cancer, mental health, etc). have been top of mind since starting my mustache growing for Movember began in 2014. To date, I have raised over $32,000 for the cause. Historically, my father's successful battle against prostate cancer and the unfortunate passing of a close friend/colleague from brain cancer helped motivate my efforts.

This year is a little different as it's my first marathon in 5 years and marks the culmination of a full recovery from ACL/meniscus reconstruction in January 2020. I know there will be plenty of pain involved, but it's all worth it on so many levels. The pandemic has been hard on so many people and I promise to give the Chicago Marathon my all!

Will I run a marathon under 4 hours again? Probably not; but now more than ever I’m thankful for my health and grateful to make a small sacrifice for a great cause.

Hey Joel, I am Kellie Paich on the Movember Programs Team. I want to personally thank you for all you have done. Because of you, we are able to continue to fund innovative programs in prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health. I hope you enjoyed your Movember, but don’t forget, men’s health is year-round!

This morning I ran an incredibly gratifying half marathon in Philadelphia in honor of Joe Mastrogiovanni an old friend who has been my Movember 2019 inspiration. Joe lost a battle to cancer this year and I heard him cheering me on from heaven during the race. One of my fastest finishes in years!

Hi

I just wanted to drop you a quick personal note to thank you for your amazing work in raising funds to stop men dying too young.

As the Global Director at the Movember Foundation, I have had the privilege of speaking with men across the world who have directly benefited from the programs we fund. Some have told me that it’s thanks to these programs that they are alive today. I always tell these guys that it’s thanks to the MoBros and MoSistas from across the world that this important work is made possible, and assure them that that I will pass on this message to you – so on behalf of guys across the world and all of us at Mo HQ – thank you!

We appreciate your ongoing support to help us stamp out cancer.
