The power of the moustache is not to be underestimated! With half of all men predicted to get cancer in their lifetime, both the awareness and the funds raised by Movember help to change the face of men's health!
Stay tuned as this year I will be celebrating Great Moustaches in Literature and the Men They Made Famous!
Just a few Mo days in this year's campaign! Be sure to keep talking Men's Health (through the gravy strainer grown all month long at the turkey day table for me). The Movember Milwaukee Gala is being held this Saturday the 30th from 7-10pm at McGillycuddy's on Water St. We'll be upstairs. Drink specials. Mustache contest. 50/50 raffle. Let's bring it home in style. With all the recent adds to the teams and all Milwaukee-registered Mo, we are about to crush $80k! Keep it coming as we push toward 90, 100, beyond??
Nothing says Thanksgiving like a little mashed potatoes in the moustache. This Thanksgiving, use the moustache as a perfect way to talk men's health with the family and understand your medical history...and hit them up for a Mo Space donation! Thank you and happy Thanksgiving from all of us here on the Grassroots Engagement Team at Movember.
Tomorrow it's a full day at The Horny Goat Hideaway. 10am volleyball tournament (we are full at 8 teams!). Bags tournament at 4pm with registration between 3-3:30. We'll take as many teams as we can get. $20 per player / two person teams with all proceeds going back into the network! Come one. Come all. Plus, hope to see some of you at the Admirals game tonight! Find our table outside of section 211.
You may notice a picture of me wearing an interesting balloon hat. Interestingly, I find this balloon hat similar to Japanese samurai helmets and masks, which, to nobody's surprise, feature prominent moustaches. Once again, history reveals the moustache to be a symbol of awesomeness throughout known existence.
It's been a busy Movember! Two jobs, plus the requisite crime fighting that such glorious facial hair requires leaves a man with little time for Mospace shenanigans!
This Friday night, come to the Admirals game at 7pm at the BMO Harris Bradley Center and get a free mustache courtesy of Lucky Tiger. While there come find our table to get some Mo info and talk Men's Health!
Come to Stubby's Gastrogrub and Beer Bar tomorrow night between 7:30-9 sporting a 'stache and "mentioning this ad" and this Mo Bro buys you a pint!
You tip the ladies of Stag Barbershop as all the Mo dough going back into Movember.
Look for me in the limited edition and very exclusive Movember Milwaukee tee shirt - I'll be wearing the gray version with bowler hat & 'stache on the front and "Ask Me About My Moustache" on the back. On sale for $15 with all profits back into the network.
Groom that glorious 'stache, bro! It needs good pampering in your care before it takes off at the end of the month. Mo on!
Those 'staches better be combed and waxed by this point, because even after the half-way mark of the month, a moustache does not wane. (har... har... har...) Mo forward!
Mo Bros and Sistas,
Halfway through the month. Hope your mustaches are coming in as luxuriously as mine. At the 15 day mark, here's some numbers for you. We need your help. MOtivate others. MOtivate yourselves. Grow that Mo and your fund raising war chests with it!
We have 41 teams in this network
We have 446 registered participants within those teams
We have 207 of those folks that have raised anywhere from at least $1 all the way up to to $1800+
We have 239 who must be plotting something big for the second half of the campaign and I fully expect they'll bring down the thunder when it counts.....
We have a network goal to reach $75k
We have work to do
United we Mo!
Mo Mil had a blast at The Mo Run and Lakefront Brewery this past Sunday. Come and join us at Aris Sports Bar in West Allis this Sunday for the Movember Milwaukee Packer Party w/ ESPN 540. We will be there to watch the Giants take their medicine and talk men's health. 3-7pm. Tee shirts, 50/50 raffle, good times to be had by all!
Hey, go Mo Bro! That's some serious cash. Good luck from Seattle!
$90 shy of $15K raised in the first week. Way to go network! 40 teams. 421 members among them. Banner year so far. Keep it up. Fundraise if a registered Mo. Donate to one of these fine Mo Bros or Mo Sistas otherwise. We need your support because nobody needs prostate cancer.
If coming to The Mo Run tomorrow morning (5k, Veterans Park, 10am) be sure to stop by the tent and introduce yourself. The tee shirts are in and will be on sale at the Lakefront Brewery post-race party after the run. $15 with all profits going back into the network among the very teams pushing us toward $75k for the year!
From our friends at Halo Soap with locations in Bay View and Cudahy. Check out this sweet action and hit up their team page to contact Stacie directly about this promotion!
I'm making a whole line of moustache waxes and during every November, 50% of the sales from those products will to towards the Movember Foundation, and 20% of those sales during the rest of the year will be held until the following Movember.
Jess and our friends at Stag Barbershop killed it on Friday. Hope your shave-offs and growth since has you in the right frame of Mo-mind.
Our next official event will be this Sunday at Veterans Park for The Mo Run. 10am to race. Noon to celebrate at Lakefront Brewery at the post-party. Come on down and lace 'em up. A portion of the proceeds from each registration going to Movember!
